“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid" - John 14:27
In other words, do not overcomplicate what I have to offer you, or what I am saying. Instead, trust in me alone as #1 in your life, and live untroubled or afraid, as I turn you into the best spouse, best parent, best friend, neighbor, leader, employee, co-worker, etc., etc.
This post title is not intended to come across as some form of clique or club, for nothing could be further from the truth. Jesus is not only the author of life, but calls those who do know Him as His friend, His masterpiece, His prized possession.
Also, this title may find many, too many perhaps, who know Jesus as their Savior, and yet, find themselves living without the peace I speak of that comes with salvation; a simple correction from being religious, to leaning on Christ.
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest" -Matthew 11:28
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing" - John 15:5
Two more key verses!
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take" - Proverbs 3:5-6
In other words, you know Jesus, you have His living word, or should, the Protestant Holy Bible, but you are either not reading it for yourself, or you've become religious, denominational doctrine vs biblical doctrine, thus taking a simple message of love, saved by grace through faith, and turned it into a study and works religion that finds you empty because of still trying to earn God's blessings; THAT IS NOT GRACE!
Grace by definition:
'Grace is God giving us what we do not deserve - unmerited, undeserved favor - and we cannot and must not add limitations to His grace; not just grace for salvation (the hope of eternal life - living after dying) - but grace that we are healed (of all sickness & disease & virus & plague) - we are redeemed (judged and now innocent, white as snow) - we are sanctified (made perfect and holy), by the suffering and beatings that Jesus went through in our place for our sins at the cross.
If you are taught to embrace grace for salvation alone, meaning, you still have to earn God's blessings for healing, redemption, and sanctification, then you will live with unnecessary worry, fear, and doubt, asking God, rather than thanking God, for what is already yours.
Example!
You become very ill. You ask God to heal you, but according to 1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:17, and Psalm 91, you are already healed of all sickness, disease, virus, and plague - SO WHY would we ask God for something He has already given us?
He also knows all things and all needs before we have a need!
And who are we to doubt?
Mark 9:23 (NLT) “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
Mark 11:24 (NLT) "I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours."
Matthew 21:22 (NLT) "You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”
John 15:7 (NLT) "But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!"
If God is telling us clearly to believe and not doubt, or be not troubled or afraid as in John 14:27 shared in the first paragraph, along with all the other powerful living word references above, is it wiser to focus on just accepting we are sick or believing we are healed?
This is not about denying we are sick, but rather, according to the living word of the four scriptures immediately above before getting to 1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:17, or Psalm 91 - DO WE BELIEVE THEM OR NOT?
1 Peter 2:24 - "He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed."
Matthew 8:17 - "This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases."
Psalm 91:3 - "For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease."
Psalm 91:9-10 - "If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home."
Even the world teaches, "If you think you can or can't you're right!" But we're talking inerrant infallible truth here, from the promised Messiah & Savior of the world who called Himself God and proved it!
And then we have the fake empty temporal peace sweeping the world
