We Cannot Understand God Until We Know God ... and ...

... we cannot know God until we read His manual for life, as in all scripture, Genesis 1:1 - Revelation 22:21, 66 books only, not 73, nothing added, nothing taken away, 100% God inspired and useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right (2 Timothy 3:16), while leading us to be accountable and responsible according to the example set for us by His Son, Jesus Christ Living God ... author of life, promised Messiah, and Savior of the world.

Knowing God is to understand God

The book of John, the fourth gospel, is a must, first place to begin reading, WHY?

  • A/ Because it was written for the gentiles/unbelievers, up close & personal to Jesus;

  • B/ Because, as you will note, verses 1-5 ties in with such key verses as Genesis 1:1, helping us to see from the beginning, the Holy Trinity, where the Hebrew word 'Elohim,' is used to identify God, defined as a plural name with a singular meaning - as in - God is 'ONE' but more than 'ONE,' and more specifically, pointing us directly to Jesus the Son of God, of the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;

  • C/ And because Genesis 1:26 in reference to the Holy Trinity that reads, "Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us," as well as Genesis 1:27 that states, "So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them," it leaves no room for error or misunderstanding - Jesus is as claimed and proven beyond challenge.

John 1:1-5 makes clear that everything was created through Jesus and for Jesus, as in - Jesus Christ Living God - Jesus is His name, Christ is His title, He lives, and He is God.

1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. 4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Thus far, one can feel confident when correcting those who make false claims, such as "Jesus was/is not God" ... or that "Jesus was only a prophet" ... or "the Holy Trinity is not true," ... BECAUSE NOW ... as you can see, understanding God is as simple as knowing God, reading His living word for yourself.

For example, when we read in John 8:58 - [Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!”] - you will immediately understand why Jesus would, could, and did make such a statement, because He was there from the beginning of all we know and see, thus before Abraham was born, 'HE WAS' or 'I AM,' amen!

Or, when someone says to you that the Holy Bible is full of errors, you can confidently begin to unfold both a short and/or exhaustive answer, as the inerrant and infallible living word comes to life within you - AS YOU DRAW CLOSE TO GOD, God draws close you, keeping you from temptation of bouncing back and forth between God and the world He created.

We can learn in Revelation 3:16 how God feels about those who play games with Him and His living word when He was delivering said point to the Laodiceans, "But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!"

We cannot understand God until we know God, and to do so, it is in Him and Him only, we find hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge - Colossians 2:3.

If he tells us in Isaiah 43:10 "I alone am God. There is no other God— there never has been, and there never will be," then why would we doubt Him and His living word, proven to be inerrant and infallible, knowing He doesn't lie; that He knows all things; and all needs before we have a need; and fills them according to plan as we believe and do not doubt?

We cannot understand God until we know God ... and ... we cannot know God until we read His manual for life, similar perhaps to reading any text for educational purposes, other than the Holy Bible being God, alive, and powerful.

Additionally, according to 1 Peter 2:24, we are already healed from salvation - "He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed."

So we don't need to ask God to heal us when we are sick, but rather, thank Him that He has healed us already by the finished works of Christ on the cross, and believe and do not doubt until it is manifest in our body.

According to Hebrews 10:10, we are already sanctified from salvation - "For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time."

So we don't ever need to be concerned again after salvation, becoming perfect & holy, white as snow in the eyes of God, by faith alone in Jesus.

According to Hebrews 9:12 we are already redeemed from salvation - "With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever."

So we don't ever need to be concerned again after salvation, because we are saved by grace through faith; the price has been paid for us - while we were still sinners, He died for us, amen thank you, Jesus.

According to John 10:10, we are already prosperous from salvation - "The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life."

So we can always know, without concern, that we are living a rich and satisfying life, with much or with little, in life or in death, never alone and within the reach of paradise in the blink of an eye.

This post has been about getting to know God in order to understand God - and with these few examples, we can better appreciate that Jesus is nothing shy of what He claimed while here on earth ... AND MORE SO ... how and why we must never cease in making His inerrant and infallible living word our sounding board and priority for living to keep us on track.
