Proverbs 16:18 (NLT) tells us, "Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall." Another perspective might be 'Pride precedes every mans downfall."
We are a proud people - too proud! Made in the image of God, and yet, in an alarming growing number across the globe, actually believing we are 'god' - latter being idolatry, and not God our Creator, nor anywhere near the ONE who spoke the world and us into being.
Isaiah 43:10 tells us " I alone am God. There is no other God— there never has been, and there never will be," but we refuse to get it, accept it, embrace such truth - and have taken this position since day one - insisting on rebelling and challenging God - the ONE who has not only offered up His mercy and grace beyond His original intention for His people only, but to us outsiders, the gentiles, the unbelievers, who are not Hebrew/Jewish/Israelites.
Imagine, countless numbers of His own people, still not believing in Him because of pride - ignorance - an unwillingness to see the truth in the very scriptures they read - and 2000+ years after their promised Messiah has come and gone, refusing to acknowledge, see & know truth.
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3 Then God said (Genesis 1:1-3) ... AND SO THE STORY GOES!
Did you know, not one religious text, other than the Holy Bible, found to be inerrant and infallible, can provide the world any form of genesis - of our beginning - other than fluff, with ZERO information to support itself? That's religion - by the thousands - man-made figments of imagination, sacrilegious, profane, impious thoughts and deeds, no different than those swept away in a time also denied as 'Noah's Flood.' With access to too many to count remnants, including full texts, from God inspired authors, in museums around the world to be seen with our own eyes, including evidences in support of the resurrection of the long ago promised coming Messiah and Savior, one might consider how deep ignorance can go - and why - other than God who knows all things - satisfying the desires of their flesh.
After His resurrection, Jesus said to Thomas, who had doubts prior to seeing for himself in John 20:29, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
The devil's good! And we can't have free will without the choice to believe or not to believe in truth. The world's convinced that the devil doesn't exist, and that the only truth (Jesus Christ) that can set man free, is the lie. Hollywood's been eating this up, literally, children included (satanism - to be exposed early 2023) - convincing their viewers of everything from their staged moon landing, to alien invasion, time travel, and zombies, etc.; outlandish, and yet, very real to the masses, no longer able to think for themselves.
In 1959 the average attention span was 22 minutes - in 2000 it was 12 minutes - and by 2019, just in time for the devils PlanDemic, said attention span was only 8 seconds.
Will we ever get it? I doubt it! Just being honest! Evidence has proven over three dispensation periods, Dispensation of Adam, Dispensation of the Mosaic Law, and the Dispensation of Grace, that man is simply not capable of being faithful and true enough in our own strength - thus the reason God made a way for 'WE THE PEOPLE,' to be reconciled back with our Creator, that was lost in the Garden of Eden because of sin, when flesh took the bait to believe a lie; the serpent (devil), deceiving Eve, and then Adam.
Romans 5:15 tells us: "But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ."
